Summary
John Walker wasn’t exactly known for his stellar communication abilities. His military training taught him that boys don’t cry, feelings were for sissies, and other similar sentiments. While he understood the value that emotional conversations could hold for others, he just couldn’t do it himself. It wasn’t in his nature. Emotions other than anger were a childish pastime, that he’d rather forget and move past.
This naturally clashed with the family-focused culture that had formed in Avengers Tower. It was so damn sappy all the time that Walker could almost vomit. And perhaps that reaction was something that Yelena would get all preachy about, and would encourage John to “open up” about, but fuck that. Walker was more than happy keeping those feelings to himself.
But it was only a matter of time.

John Walker is completely fine. Until he isn’t.
