Summary
Disappearances keep rising, not just in Gotham, but in Metropolis and Central City and... All across the globe. The Justice League form a plan, but Superman keeps getting distracted. The sounds of cries for help are overwhelming and never-ending.
In Gotham, Red Hood and Nightwing team up after some radio silence and choose to investigate some store with way too high electricity bills for the area, and hear a woman screaming.
Huh... The pirate hat that is halfway through the ground is just a joke, right?
And when two of his children go missing, and when Superman stops responding to comms, Batman is left to find the pieces. So much for being the "World's greatest detective", because there's no traces of anything!
... Aside for some new sketchy MRI company starting to open in more and more buildings globally. But that's probably nothing, right?

Clark attends a Wayne Foundation gala as both a reporter and Bruce Wayne’s husband, expecting nothing more dangerous than speeches and wealthy donors. The night turns catastrophic when armed protestors storm the event and threaten to kill everyone inside. Forced to protect innocent people without exposing himself as Batman, Bruce quietly risks himself over and over while Superman desperately tries to deescalate the situation. When the building explodes, Clark manages to save dozens of people—but not Bruce. When the Daily Planet heard word of a new vigilante in Crime Alley that supposedly had no affiliation with Batman, Perry White thought it to be a nice short story—a quick in and out. After all, while the people of Metropolis had Superman, everyone knew of Batman, and a vigilante not working with him seemed interesting.
At least, that’s what Perry told his college intern. And her mentor Clark Kent when he raised concerns.
No one told her that the vigilante was intimidatingly attractive. Or that Crime Alley was the worse place in Gotham City. Or that her mentor would ask a friend to keep tabs on her. Or that the detective she’s staying with hates Batman despite working with him frequently. Or that the detectives neighbor was a really cute guy.

Summary
In the following days Bruce quickly moved to the batcave, Clark gets it, the other prefers his affairs to stay private, but why did that have to include cutting Clark out too? One minute they were breathing the same silence on the Watchtower, a baby between them like fragile gravity. The next, Bruce was gone and back underground, back behind walls that for once Clark couldn’t see through.
